HOW TO DEAL WITH HIGH "LDL"

Have you ever observed what you have eaten the whole day in your meals? Maybe you are having too much-saturated fat in your diet.


We all want to live healthy and cheerful life and we want our loved ones to be healthy too. It is totally our responsibility to look after our health as well as our elders too.


Occasionally, whenever we visit our family or friend, we Indians mostly buy sweets for them, how about buying a pack of fruits and promoting health.


The type of fatty acids consumption plays a major role in our health. Saturated and trans fats should be limited to our daily diet. A high intake of saturated fat is associated with increased total and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. Both trans fat and saturated fat increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.


Now the question is what is saturated fat and how we unintentionally consume food full of it. so few examples are - full-fat cheese, pizza, fried food, sausage, all junk and sweets which we have on the name of the dessert.


Evidence suggests that the health benefits are best when saturated fat is replaced with food higher in polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. Food is included - salmon, tuna, and other fatty fish, and many types of nuts and seeds such as flaxseeds, are high in polyunsaturated fat. Now when Indians are using oil for cooking we must use olive oil but in limited quantity. if olive oil is healthy does not mean it can be used for frying.


Replacing saturated fats with polyunsaturated fat is associated with decreased total LDL cholesterol and decreased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack.
